Radiant Orchid

Color of the year

I have to admit I’m kind of excited about the 2014 color of the year… Pantone’s Radiant Orchid! Here is what they had to say in their press release, “Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple-one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.”  Ok, brides, designers and those of you who love color, how will you incorporate the gorgeous color into your lives?  I’m off to buy a scarf and of course some brooches and bling!

And the color of the year is… Emerald Green

Pantone 17-5641 Emerald Green was chosen as the color of the year for 2013… “Green is the most abundant hue in nature-the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum… lively, radiant, lush… a color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director Pantone.  So, how will you be inspired by and use Emerald Green this year? As for me… I’m guessing I have an inspired Brooch Bouquet in my future, been stocking up on green brooches. I will share a peek at those another day.

It’s the year of Tangerine Tango!

2012 the year of Orange… Pantone’s Tangerine Tango! I’m so excited to see how creative the wedding world is at designing with this very festive non-traditional color… I think that’s why I love it! Let’s go all you out-of-the-box brides, start imagining the possibilities! I am… designing a Brooch bouquet for my ready-made collection!  According to Pantone’s color guru Leatrice Eliseman, “This year’s color choice is a symbol for what people are needing, based on what is happening in the world around them. I felt that Tangerine Tango is just the color to break the malaise and much-needed today. Walk into any clothing department and you are faced with a sea of black and gray as retailers “play it safe”. Splashes of tangerine are a much needed jolt of visual vitamin C”.  “Orange is the happiest color” Frank Sinatra
