So many sweet little details about this custom, very vintage brooch bouquet!

From personal pieces given by  family members to the little framed photo of their engagement and finally the tiny little embellished vile to hold a bit of the sand from the beach in Cabo where this precious couple exchanged their vows, this vintage inspired bouquet was the beautiful final touch for Julie’s destination wedding!  Even though I rarely get to meet any of my brides, through emails, phone calls and texts, my digging to find ways to add personal touches to my one-of-a-kind creations, I feel like I have a new friend by the time I ship! Each bouquet is so unique that this job never gets old and always surprises me with a blessing or two!  Congratulations to you Julie, may you live happily ever after!

Here’s looking at you!

Bride & Groom Skulls

Every once in a while I get an order that takes me away from “Brooch Bouquets” and allows me to unleash my creative juices!

This wedding is scheduled to take place on Halloween, the request… Bride & Groom skulls! Done! I can’t wait to see how they are used! Talk about out-of-the-box thinking! I really do love my job!

Roller Derby Bride!

I can not even begin to express how fun this custom Brooch Bouquet was to create! When a bride chooses to do all the hunting of pieces I am often a bit nervous to see what they gather, then comes the challenge to creatively put it together! But oh how I squealed when I opened this brides treasures… seriously, spiders, cougars, scorpions, dice, 30 different skulls and yes, that is a mini brass knuckles behind that spider! I talk about being an out-of-the-box bride quite often, not following the norm, creating opportunities to add your personality and uniqueness, Jamielee did just that! She is an ex roller derby player and her quirkiness is all over this bouquet!  What a treasure and dare I say heirloom she now has of her very special day!

The Groom is like a son and his lovely bride Nicole has become like a daughter…and they lived happily ever after!

I just love a woman who knows her own heart!!! The lovely client, Debbie contacted me to create a custom  brooch bouquet, I went through my normal questionnaire … “when is your wedding date?”  her response, “oh I’m not a bride, I just want one for my bedroom!”  Needless to say my questions went in a  slightly  direction…  Her response upon receiving her Boudoir Brooch Bouquet… “Oh my God it’s beautiful, I love it, love it, love it!!!  An that is why I do what I do!  Creating smiles one at a time!  🙂

In the midst of creating custom Brooch Bouquets for my lovely brides I had the opportunity to create a few of my mini desk-top bouquets, each with a personal story…  the top was a gift to my Mother-in-law for her 80th Birthday, I even Mod Podged an old bottle with antique wrapping paper. The pink was for a friend re-covering from surgery. “Under the Tuscan Sun”  was for a friend dreaming of Italy! Finally the purple and gold was commissioned  for a Mother’s day gift for a treasured mom! Each have found a spot in the lives of the recipients where they can be seen and bring joy! One smile at a time!

Custom BoutonniereI love brides who think outside-of-the-box! Adrea is one of them, she contacted me with the desire to design a unique boutonniere that includes things important to her groom, Justin. Dodger fan, proud to be Italian, love of football, collects watches, world traveler, rock-n-roller, insanely huge Beatles fan & a drummer himself… how’d we do?  Adrea surprised him the morning of their wedding with this personal gift!!! Success, he loved it!

This very cool couple had a piece of artwork designed during the wedding and reception… at the end of the night the boutonniere was attached as a permanent memento of their amazing day! Congratulations Justin & Adrea!

Hey Neighbor!

Heart planter

herb garden box

succulent garden

A little deviation from Brooch Bouquets today, but so worth it!  My amazingly talented neighbors designed and constructed this succulent garden as a wedding gift… are you kidding me? Jim & Mary are not only my lovely neighbors but they are true treasure hunters! Always on the look out for a great deal or better yet the abandoned treasure left on the side of the road! They are such a great team… Mary comes up with the idea and Mr. Talent (Jim) figures out a way to make it happen, then Mary adds the final details…  this is a perfect example of their crafty work… in need of a wedding gift, they came up with the idea to make a succulent garden. Constructed from a piece of redwood the heart was created, planted with succulents (cuttings from her own garden) “we need a box”  left over wood was brilliantly turned into not only a box to carry the gift, but designed to be an herb garden… little bags of seeds with stamped spoons as markers, The wedding gift is complete! Oh did I mention the old leather belt Jim cut apart to make the boxes handles? They really are too much! Congrats to the lucky couple!
