I can not even begin to express how fun this custom Brooch Bouquet was to create! When a bride chooses to do all the hunting of pieces I am often a bit nervous to see what they gather, then comes the challenge to creatively put it together! But oh how I squealed when I opened this brides treasures… seriously, spiders, cougars, scorpions, dice, 30 different skulls and yes, that is a mini brass knuckles behind that spider! I talk about being an out-of-the-box bride quite often, not following the norm, creating opportunities to add your personality and uniqueness, Jamielee did just that! She is an ex roller derby player and her quirkiness is all over this bouquet! What a treasure and dare I say heirloom she now has of her very special day!

Something Old, Someting New Brooch Bouquet
18 FebThis Custom Brooch Bouquet is a true labor of love… the amazing Mother of the bride, Viviane contacted me determined to have one of my bouquets for her daughters February wedding in the Bahamas! No problem… except that we only had a few weeks to pull it off! I am always willing to except the challenge of a rush order, if I have the stock or the bride has all her goodies ready to go. Neither however was the case… Viviane did all the hunting of the new pieces while I did all the gathering of the vintage/antique pieces, the fact that she worked for FedEx was such a blessing! 63 emails, a dozen phone calls, countless sneak peeks, 4 shipments and a trip to meet the bride on a layover and… One very happy surprised bride with an over-the- top thankful mother! What a delight is was to collaborate with you Viviane! Travel safe and congratulations!
Brooch Bouquet for a “Snow Queen”
5 FebSometimes you just know… My first contact with bride, Nicole was one of those times, She knew she wanted a custom Brooch Bouquet to carry at her winter wedding in Canada at an historical carriage house! She was going for a snow queen look! Well, if you know me, you know that I love the brides that think a bit out of the traditional wedding box! But more than that I am a sucker for brides willing to share their story with me… Nicole was and is one of those brides. She, along with her family & friends did the collecting and with each piece came a note about why it was chosen… precious! Also included were pieces of her mother’s velvet wedding dress that I was able to use on the underbelly. She will be carrying so much love with her on February 15th! Thank you Nicole for including me in your love story!
Brooches, Burlap & Lace
15 OctWhat a delight it was to work with the lovely McCall. She is one of those people that just light up the room with her smile! Plus it is always a treat for me to have a local bride and get to have face-to-face meetings! McCall and her mom did all the hunting for this beautiful pink brooch bouquet, each stem was then wrapped in shades of green for the just picked from the garden look! I can’t wait to see her day of photos! Stay tuned! Oh, and a big thank you to Stephanie of Ribbons and Rust for the referral.
Brooch Bouquet & Dog Collar inspired by, The Owl and the Pussy-cat
25 Jul
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea in a beautiful pea-green boat… I shared back in May a sneak peek of Bijou’s blinged out dog collar for bride Lisa and her Owl and the Pussy-cat themed wedding. Here are a few more details. She spent over a year collecting all the pieces for her custom brooch bouquet, once gathered it was all shipped to me in not one, but two boxes weighing over 5lbs each! 169 pieces came tumbling out onto my dinning table… Yikes! It was quite the process to put just the right combination together of her favorites and to keep the finished bouquet under 6lbs (even at that we laughed about her needing to lift weights just to carry it.) Her dress was the perfect choice to complete her look. Flower Bomb by Ian Stuart (one of my favorites). And lets not forget “Bijou the Basset Hound” acting as the ring bearer, sporting her own custom embellished collar! I can not wait to see the photos! Thanks to Lisa for being so much fun to work with! My brides really are the best! …and hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, they danced by the light of the moon, the moon, they danced in the light of the moon.

Art Deco Brooch Bouquet
20 Mar
This is the latest beauty to leave the studio… I offer 3 custom Brooch Bouquet options to my brides, Yours, Mine & Ours. Let me explain… Yours, the bride provides all the pieces, With Mine, I do all the hunting. Ours, is a combination, the bride collects all she can and then I fill in the remainder. This one-of-a-kind Brooch Bouquet for The lovely bride Kellie is a great example of “Ours”. Kellie gathered about 1/2 and then according to her theme/style, I filled in the rest. What a beautiful collaboration, wouldn’t you agree? Can’t wait to see the photos!
