This Custom Brooch Bouquet is a true labor of love… the amazing Mother of the bride, Viviane contacted me determined to have one of my bouquets for her daughters February wedding in the Bahamas! No problem… except that we only had a few weeks to pull it off! I am always willing to except the challenge of a rush order, if I have the stock or the bride has all her goodies ready to go. Neither however was the case… Viviane did all the hunting of the new pieces while I did all the gathering of the vintage/antique pieces, the fact that she worked for FedEx was such a blessing! 63 emails, a dozen phone calls, countless sneak peeks, 4 shipments and a trip to meet the bride on a layover and… One very happy surprised bride with an over-the- top thankful mother! What a delight is was to collaborate with you Viviane! Travel safe and congratulations!
Sometimes you just know… My first contact with bride, Nicole was one of those times, She knew she wanted a custom Brooch Bouquet to carry at her winter wedding in Canada at an historical carriage house! She was going for a snow queen look! Well, if you know me, you know that I love the brides that think a bit out of the traditional wedding box! But more than that I am a sucker for brides willing to share their story with me… Nicole was and is one of those brides. She, along with her family & friends did the collecting and with each piece came a note about why it was chosen… precious! Also included were pieces of her mother’s velvet wedding dress that I was able to use on the underbelly. She will be carrying so much love with her on February 15th! Thank you Nicole for including me in your love story!
I’m kicking off 2014 with the lovely bride McCall… and of course her custom Brooch Bouquet! I am always so blessed when a bride shares her wedding day photos with me! So while I re-group and get back on schedule, please enjoy a glimpse into her BIG day! Images courtesy of Imagery Concepts.
…and they lived happily ever after.
I have to admit I’m kind of excited about the 2014 color of the year… Pantone’s Radiant Orchid! Here is what they had to say in their press release, “Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple-one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.” Ok, brides, designers and those of you who love color, how will you incorporate the gorgeous color into your lives? I’m off to buy a scarf and of course some brooches and bling!
What a delight it was to work with the lovely McCall. She is one of those people that just light up the room with her smile! Plus it is always a treat for me to have a local bride and get to have face-to-face meetings! McCall and her mom did all the hunting for this beautiful pink brooch bouquet, each stem was then wrapped in shades of green for the just picked from the garden look! I can’t wait to see her day of photos! Stay tuned! Oh, and a big thank you to Stephanie of Ribbons and Rust for the referral.
I am so very thankful to be able to do what I love! I meet the most amazing brides and I am sure that I have mentioned once or twice… ok maybe a dozen or more times that my brides are the best! Cat, however is one of those people that I was blessed to have met and worked with and now can call my friend! No more words are necessary for you to grasp the depth of her love story, beautifully captured by Nightingale Photography… enjoy! …and they lived happily ever after.
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea in a beautiful pea-green boat… I shared back in May a sneak peek of Bijou’s blinged out dog collar for bride Lisa and her Owl and the Pussy-cat themed wedding. Here are a few more details. She spent over a year collecting all the pieces for her custom brooch bouquet, once gathered it was all shipped to me in not one, but two boxes weighing over 5lbs each! 169 pieces came tumbling out onto my dinning table… Yikes! It was quite the process to put just the right combination together of her favorites and to keep the finished bouquet under 6lbs (even at that we laughed about her needing to lift weights just to carry it.) Her dress was the perfect choice to complete her look. Flower Bomb by Ian Stuart (one of my favorites). And lets not forget “Bijou the Basset Hound” acting as the ring bearer, sporting her own custom embellished collar! I can not wait to see the photos! Thanks to Lisa for being so much fun to work with! My brides really are the best! …and hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, they danced by the light of the moon, the moon, they danced in the light of the moon.
I love when I get to share a brides photos! Here is the beautiful Kellie along with her handsome honey Kevin. Her custom brooch bouquet was full of a great mix of true vintage and reproduction pieces, very classy style! Love her red Valentino’s!
Congratulations Kellie & Kevin! …and they lived happily ever after.
